I finally arranged a photoshoot with a lovely new model who has moved to my area, Amanda.
She and her son moved here from New York City, where she was an artist and fine-art model. Before I had taken a single frame, I knew I’d want to get her in front of my camera as often as possible.
She’s a very lovely woman, but also has a large range of expressiveness. I hope that if I get to shoot with her again, we can do some fashion looks.
I had mostly seen mostly serious expressions in her other photography, but I think I got some pretty good looks where she shows joy.
She recently had a housewarming party. I brought her one of my metallic wall prints showing off DeSoto Falls.
I don’t know whether she’ll remain in this area, but I hope to shoot with her as often as she wants. I’ve really craved a muse-type to shoot with regularly, seeing how much range we can achieve in looks and styles.
She’s a very talented artist. I recommend her to anyone wanting a drawing of a loved one.
Like myself, she’s not a huge fan of winter. She’s not experienced an Alabama summer yet, so we’ll see how that goes.
I’ve not done many photo shoots, both because of the cold and wet weather and starting this job at the newspaper. We connected and shot at her new home.
Being back in a small town, I am hopeful that I can set up some spring shoots. At this point, I’m doing photography mostly for fun. I don’t want to sit around being unproductive and bored.
I hope to be sharing more of her very soon!
